About this Position:

Responsible to coordinate certification activities for the plant assigned, during new model development and mass production.

Responsibilities include:

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate new model project requirements and mass production testing with Japan and AH Certification teams. Ensure that vehicles and parts are provided on time to meet Cert testing requirements.
  • Certification key window person for plants. Coordinate certification marking compliance activity with impacted plants/groups. Support regulation related investigations as needed. Support NA HazMat activity. Attend NA Regulation correlation meetings and communicate potential impact items as needed.
  • Prepare and report Certification status at each new model project evaluation and at Mass Production shipping evaluations.
  • Coordinate activity to produce Emission/Fuel Economy Cert vehicles with special measured parts (includes drawing creation, MI issuance, and placing part orders). This activity involves Frame, Engine, and Transmission plants.
  • Support other Cert PL team members as needed.

Required Experience:


• 2-6 years based on education, prefer manufacturing or quality environment

Required Education:


• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience

Other job specific skills:


• General knowledge of Certification and Regulation requirements.

• Knowledge of Honda's vehicle and part ordering systems.

• Ability to effectively lead meetings.

• Strong communication and networking skills with all company levels and with both internal and external sources

• Work with minimal supervision

• Organizational skills

Additional Position Factors:

Ability to travel to part receiving location and confirm parts (typically in a warehouse setting). Work can be mostly virtual but must be available to support in-plant activities as needed. Travel may be needed to support counterparts at other NA facilities (~2x per year). OT (~5-10 hrs/week may be needed at times).
