The Engineering Research Specialist plays a pivotal role in conducting and evaluating research across diverse engineering fields. This position involves collaborating with engineers to execute intricate engineering assessments and analyses, formulating and instituting new standards, protocols, processes, and equipment, as well as delivering technical documentation and presentations to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:

- Understand client testing objectives and effectively communicate these goals to team members and business units.
- Develop comprehensive work descriptions based on client requirements and insights into relevant processes.
- Coordinate project budgets and proposals aligned with client objectives and input from business units.
- Create detailed test plans and procedures tailored to client needs and the processes involved.
- Conduct tests and prepare final reports within budgetary constraints and deadlines.

- Conduct research on a wide range of motor vehicle and mobility safety issues.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Proficient technical knowledge to address complex, work-related challenges. Strong communication abilities. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and data analysis software. Basic project management capabilities.
Working Conditions:
Standard office environment with climate control. Laboratory settings may involve exposure to temperatures ranging from below 0 to above 95 degrees. Potential exposure to inclement weather and hazardous materials, including gases, oils, and paints.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain stationary for extended periods. Capability to operate a computer and other office equipment. Effective communication with clients and colleagues. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, contingent on specific role requirements. Must be able to maintain a stationary position for prolonged durations and be capable of bending, stretching, climbing, or adopting awkward positions as necessary.
