Position Summary: The Product Development Engineer is responsible for the design and enhancement of products, focusing on innovation and cost efficiency. This role requires minimal supervision while ensuring alignment with sales and manufacturing needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all stages of product development, from initial design concepts to production readiness.
- Develop, document, and manage project plans throughout the product lifecycle.
- Coordinate new development initiatives, including timelines, budgets, tooling, and compliance with agency standards.
- Create solid modeling designs to uphold design integrity.
- Conduct evaluations on products, focusing on stress analysis, fluid dynamics, material strength, and machine design elements.
- Plan and allocate budgets for product development projects from conception to production.
- Review engineering drawings for accuracy, dimensional tolerances, and completeness.
- Participate in product testing and validation at national laboratories to secure necessary approvals for new and revised designs.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and reporting any hazardous conditions.

Qualifications:

- 10+ years of engineering experience in mechanical design or a related field.
- Experience with sprinkler systems and plumbing standards is preferred.
