Job Purpose

Manage performance and development of Local Spec Control Operations and it's associates. Participate in the development of department business plan strategies and themes. Participate or support Group Leads & associates in the execution and implementation of business plan themes. Establish, monitor, and evaluate KPI target achievement for Local Spec Groups and individuals. Oversee daily operations by effectively setting Unit direction and management of workload across the unit. Ensure teams proper and timely execution of BOM change points at the plant level for new model BOM maturation and mass production. When problems arise, lead the investigation and countermeasure activity to address problems in the Bill of Material or work processes.

Key Accountabilities
  • Spec Control Operations Committee Local Spec Lead: Lead NA Local Spec Operations in monthly meetings and represent HDMA in the review or creation of new operational rules and job flows for accuracy.
  • Monthly Scorecard Reporting / Workload: Review KPI results and conduct root cause analysis for KPI's not achieving target. Update monthly scorecard with gap analysis comments and review during the monthly scorecard meeting. Work with unit to improve KPI achievement as required. Manpower Planning Lead for Local Spec
  • Associate Development: Set, discuss, and monitor associate performance goals that directly support business plan initiatives and KPI achievement. Provide necessary direction and support to achieve goals. Develop opportunities for team members to foster continuous growth which will allow job rotation to strengthen Unit and Department skill / capabilities. Conduct performance reviews with direct reports and support feedback on performance reviews for all team members.
  • Bill of Material management– Oversee Bill of Material management for 9 Factories at HDMA & HCM (AAP, AEP, ELP, IAP, HCM, MAP, PMC, TMP-O, TMP-G) Engage and support the Local of all HDMA plants / departments with Bill of Material clarification & data configuration per Operational Rules by creating effective working relationships and demonstrating good use of conflict resolution and persuasion. Facilitate meetings to ensure Spec Control Business or Company information is being clearly communicated a timely manner to associates, gather feedback, and address associate concerns as needed.
  • Business Plan – Participate in development, implementation and execution of Business Plan themes to achieve Company or Operational Goals. Identify theme leads and members to ensure proper goals and milestones are set. Monitor theme activity and identify project issues and develop resolutions to meet targets. Support and develop presentations for management on theme maturation and the impact to business operations.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • BAS Degree, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 12+ years of experience based on education
  • 2-4+ years of Spec Control experience with Part Drawing Control or Engineering Change, Supplement Experience in Supply Chain, Production Control or Manufacturing Engineering is a plus.
  • 5 to 8+ years of leadership
  • Excel (macro knowledge a +), PowerPoint, Communication, Time management
  • Develop people and leaders, driving individual performance and building technical talent.
  • Identify and gather information to understand multidimensional problems to be solved
  • Recognize and demonstrate project management skills
  • Recognize & demonstrate quantitative research knowledge (Process of collecting, analysing and qualifying data).
  • Recognize & demonstrate new model development flow knowledge
  • Recognize & demonstrate Cost-benefit analysis knowledge
  • Lead the Complex problems Analysis, determine root causes, recommend corrective action

  • Hybrid - In office 60%. In office work is a open office environment.

  • Travel to all HDMA Plant sites (9) for associate engagement and support US Mfg. Plants,
