Position Overview

This role is situated within the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and is focused on providing essential support to the Outlying Office (OO) in relation to Business Operations and the administrative facets of Law Enforcement Activities.

Agency Clarification

Current employees of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in competitive service with a career or career conditional appointment. Eligible displaced and surplus Department of Justice (DOJ) employees within the local commuting area.

Key Responsibilities

Typical assignments may encompass:
  • Executing a diverse array of administrative support tasks for the Outlying Office (OO) and Division, linked to General Services Unit (GSU) and Finance and Procurement Unit (FPU) activities involving administrative, human resource liaison, fleet management, personal property oversight, security management, inspections/internal control, logistics, and records management.
  • Managing various tasks and programs directly supporting the law enforcement mission of the OO.
  • Facilitating administrative and operational functions related to activities involving human resource liaison, personal property management, and security.
  • Conducting intricate law enforcement searches and queries.
  • Collecting and analyzing data to pinpoint discrepancies.
  • Drafting various administrative documents including reports, briefings, and correspondence.
  • Offering authoritative guidance on administrative matters within the organization.
Employment Conditions

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

Qualifications

Applicants must satisfy the qualification requirements outlined below by the closing date of the announcement. If qualifying based on education, a copy of college transcripts must be submitted with the application.

For GS-09 applicants, one of the following criteria must be met:

A. Possession of at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level.

Specialized experience encompasses both paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work through National Service programs and other organizations. Volunteer work contributes to critical competencies, knowledge, and skills that translate directly to paid employment.

To qualify at the GS-09 level, you must meet the following:

One year of experience (equivalent to at least the GS-07 level) that includes: 1) Providing administrative and operational support in activities involving human resource liaison and security; 2) Conducting complex law enforcement searches; 3) Analyzing data for inaccuracies; 4) Preparing administrative documents; and 5) Offering authoritative guidance on administrative matters.

OR

Education: A Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be utilized to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
