What you will be doing

The Actuarial Analyst will assist various projects within the Latin America actuarial team. This position will work with Actuaries in the Regional Office (Fort Lauderdale) as well as with Actuaries in country (Chile, Peru, and Brazil). This position supports both the Regional Corporate Actuary (RCA) as well as the Actuarial Modeling Actuary (AMA) for Latin America. The time allocation for each will be determined as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Actuarial support of financial reporting activities defined by the RCA
  • Actuarial support of product and modeling related activities defined by the AMA
  • Involved in all actuarial functions related to the region including but not limited to: valuation, pricing, corporate actuarial, ERM, model development, oversight
  • Peer review of by-country valuation results during the quarterly reporting process
  • Peer review and support of experience studies
  • US GAAP analysis and local implementation of new requirements (e.g., LDTI)
  • MG-ALFA and Excel modeling and production support for the various valuation bases (US GAAP, loss recognition, and shadow reserves, as well as IFRS for pricing of products)
  • Assisting LDTI analysis and implementation for all life and annuity lines of business
  • Support the local and in country actuaries as needed when questions or issues arise and need to be resolved
  • Actively expanding actuarial knowledge and exam passing in pursuit of attaining ASA designation.


The ideal candidate will be an actuarial student with 0-2 years of work experience.

Requirements

What Sets You Up for Success
  • A bachelor's degree
  • Actuarial Student with at least 1 SOA exam passed
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Fluent in Spanish, required
  • Reporting and life/annuity product knowledge a plus
