A Brief Overview

This key position on the brand marketing team is responsible for ensuring the Stanford Medicine brand is used according to Stanford University's trademark name and use guidelines and Stanford Medicine's brand policies. Adherence oversight is for both written and visual formats inclusive of all marks, logos, entity names. Examples of trademark and brand use may include: third-party press releases, websites, printed collateral, contract language and company presentations.

What you will do

  • Assist with reviewing and editing (sometimes revising) internal and external public relations materials to maintain brand, trademark and reputation standards
  • Assist efforts to obtain stakeholder perspectives, gather data, problem-solve, and draft recommendations to improve and streamline Stanford Medicine procedures and policies as it relates to trademark name and brand usage
  • Assist with interpreting policies for anyone using the trademark name and logos, including internal and external collaborators
  • Provide policy-supported guidance to assist with the appropriate usage of Stanford's name and logo usage in alignment with Stanford University's and Stanford Medicine's trademark name and brand logo use guidelines
  • Support and track each trademark and brand inbox request in detail to assist with record keeping, visibility and education with internal and external stakeholders
  • Aggregate, consolidate, codify and record decisions and responses for ongoing consistency
  • Manage production coordination, including print production, for the marketing team
  • Manage design update request queue—assigning/resourcing for brand-related requests
  • Providing basic brand and general design feedback on requests
  • Manage day-to-day relationship with our Production and Print vendors, including adherence to templates, guidelines, etc.

Experience Qualifications

  • 5 (five) to seven (7) years progressively responsible and directly related work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent project management skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task and manage ongoing time-sensitive incoming requests
  • Work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external customers, varying in seniority and work
  • experiences to research, learn and understand the importance of protecting the integrity of the Stanford Medicine brand
  • Proficient in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Understanding of core design principles e.g., typography, color, hierarchy
  • Trafficking files, archiving and organization of files.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills to work effectively with peers, stakeholders and Stanford Medicine and Stanford University colleagues
  • Excellent communication skills to interact, correspond and diplomatically manage expectations, deny requests and build relationships

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $ $69.74 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
