Overview

The Accounting Intern will support and assist with entry-level Accounts Payable, Project Accounting, and SQL/Reporting tasks. This role is based at our Chantilly Headquarters office and remote.

What will you do?
  • Assign incoming AP Dept email box emails to the team based on business rules.
  • Assist with Project data clean-up efforts as assigned.
  • Use SQL and Cognos reporting to assist with data cleanup efforts.
  • Assist with cleaning the Charge Tree from old project codes.
  • Assist with AP/ Expense reports.
  • Audit Project User Flow to identify projects missing PMs' names, allow charges boxes at the wrong levels, and inactive old projects before the 8.2 Costpoint update.
  • Assist the PA team with Contract closeouts.
  • Check the FFP contracts unbilled and notify the PMs and PCs.
  • Assist in the creation of an Expense Report stored procedure to prevent user errors.
  • Investigate the application of Web Enabled spreadsheets for subcontractor labor invoices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Do you have what it takes?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred in progress with expected graduation in 2025.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
