Position Overview:

Red River is on the lookout for a Senior Manager of Accounts Receivable to enhance our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves overseeing the daily functions of the Accounts Receivable department, ensuring that team members are effectively working towards collective objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, inspire, and guide the Accounts Receivable team.
  • Oversee daily cash flow forecasts related to incoming collections and communicate expected collections based on team insights.
  • Ensure compliance with all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies, including thorough reviews of sales order documentation, contracts, and customer purchase orders.
  • Develop and implement new SOPs as the business expands and diversifies.
  • Identify and manage opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Maintain internal controls to ensure alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Enhance the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process to ensure accurate reflection of receivables.
  • Monitor team performance through various metrics to foster continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to the monthly closing schedule.
  • Coordinate with sales teams for timely invoicing.
  • Generate reports for senior leadership regarding billing, accounts receivable aging, and collection efforts.
  • Manage aged customer credits effectively.
  • Lead the year-end audit processes related to Accounts Receivable.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships and resolve payment issues.
  • Review month-end reconciliation reports and journal entries.
  • Handle complex invoicing scenarios as necessary.
  • Perform additional business-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in government billing and collections, with a strong grasp of the complete accounts receivable process.
  • Over 10 years of experience managing large teams, ideally in accounts receivable or collections.
  • Experience in business reengineering, preferably with a focus on accounting.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Navision and Deltek Costpoint.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

  • Ability to interpret customer contracts for invoicing and payment collection.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.

Work Environment:

This position requires regular attendance during scheduled hours and may involve extended hours during peak periods. The role is primarily office-based, necessitating prolonged periods of stationary work and continuous communication with colleagues.
