Tax Season Internship Opportunity

Join Jackson Hewitt Tax Service as a Tax Season Intern and gain hands-on experience in tax preparation, research, and client communication. This internship is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the tax preparation process and equip you with the skills necessary to succeed in a tax professional role.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare tax returns using proprietary software and Lacerte software for business tax return preparation
  • Organize client information and communicate with clients to ensure accurate and timely tax preparation
  • Research tax-related questions and issues and respond to clients in a timely manner
  • Work with clients' QuickBooks files to prepare tax returns
  • Participate in regular meetings to receive feedback and engage in professional development discussions
Training and Development:
  • Complete 40 hours of training to familiarize yourself with tax software and forms
  • The training program is designed to gradually introduce you to tax forms, starting with simple returns and progressing to more complex returns, including multi-state returns
  • Upon completion of the training program, you will be able to prepare tax returns and fill out required IRS forms
Requirements:
  • Course of study in tax (12 hours)
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong technical aptitude and skill set
  • Successful completion of the company's Tax Knowledge Assessment
Education and Experience:
  • 3rd Year College student with a major in Accounting; Overall minimum GPA 3.0/4.0
  • Demonstrated experience in Active Listening and Critical Thinking
