As part of the Maryland State Department of Education, the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) provides services to assist students with disabilities prepare for the work world, vocational rehabilitation services to assist adults with significant disabilities who are seeking to enter or reenter the workforce, and the adjudication of Social Security disability claims for the citizens of Maryland.\r

POSITION DUTIES

This role provides full performance level administrative and secretarial services to professional staff engaged in the intake and eligibility processes for Vocational and Pre-Employment Transition Services cases. This position supports the Administrator of the Eligibility Determination Unit (EDU).\r

Position Duties include:�\r
\r
\r
Types manuscripts, correspondence, reports and other documents\r
Enters consumer referral information into the referral portal\r
Reviews and prioritizes incoming correspondence�\r
Enters, updates, and maintains accurate electronic case records�\r
Provides general DORS information to prospective consumers, the general public, and referral sources\r
Connects clients with various resources�\r
Mails or emails intake packets and other correspondence to consumers�\r
\r
\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.�\r
\r
Experience: Four years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.�\r
\r
\r
Notes:�\r
1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.�\r
2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.�\r
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r
