Description of Duties:

The Accounting Internship supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

· Receives and processes accounts payable invoices for contract and operating expenses, subcontractors, and materials.

· Verifies specified teammate labor charges against vendor invoice.

· Responsible for routing vendor invoices for approval and to ensure appropriate account distribution of costs.

· Responsible for the timely processing of vendor payments and communication with vendors regarding payment status.

· Responsible for miscellaneous reimbursements in accordance with contract terms, company policy and federal regulations.

· Reconciles open payables and reviews in support of month end accruals of expenses incurred but not paid.

· Creates and uploads files required to process purchasing credit cards.

· Ensures PO updates are accurate for line-item funding and period of performance with other functional groups.

· Exerts a positive customer service approach to vendors, employees, customers, and internal departments in performance of all responsibilities.

· Regular attendance is critical in this highly visible position as responsibilities are subject to recurring deadlines each week.

· Maintains all records in accordance with retention requirements in anticipation of government and corporate audits.

· Assists with record retrieval and expense reconciliations during both external and internal audits.

· Ability to identify the need for process improvements and suggestions to implement.

This internship will be six months long that begins from the hire date.

Here's what you'll need :

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 1 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 0 years of general experience.

· Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: 25 college credit hours in a Business Degree related field.

· Must be familiar with the use and integration of Microsoft Office application suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

· Display responsiveness, flexibility, organization, and attention to detail are a must.

· Perform as a highly motivated self-starter with ability to work independently and with others in a collaborative environment.

· Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.

· Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or must be able to obtain within 90 days of offer.

This position is expected to pay $42,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days. If a candidate has not been selected at that time, it will continue to be posted until a suitable candidate is selected or the position is closed.
