Position Overview:
This internship role focuses on supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected intern will be tasked with:

  • Processing accounts payable invoices related to contract and operational expenses, including those from subcontractors and materials.
  • Verifying labor charges against vendor invoices.
  • Routing vendor invoices for necessary approvals and ensuring accurate account distribution of costs.
  • Timely processing of vendor payments and maintaining communication regarding payment statuses.
  • Managing miscellaneous reimbursements in line with contract stipulations, company policies, and federal regulations.
  • Reconciling open payables and assisting with month-end accruals for unpaid expenses.
  • Creating and uploading files for purchasing credit card processing.
  • Ensuring accurate updates to purchase orders regarding funding and performance periods.
  • Exhibiting a positive customer service approach towards vendors, employees, and internal departments.
  • Maintaining regular attendance to meet weekly deadlines.
  • Keeping records in compliance with retention requirements for government and corporate audits.
  • Assisting in record retrieval and expense reconciliations during audits.
  • Identifying opportunities for process enhancements and proposing improvements.

This internship will span six months from the date of hire. Resumes must be submitted in a month and year format for consideration.

Qualifications:
Applicants should meet the following basic requirements:

  • One of the following combinations of education and experience: High School Diploma (or GED) with one year of general experience; or an Associate's degree with no prior experience.
  • A minimum of 25 college credit hours in a Business-related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated responsiveness, flexibility, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a self-motivated individual.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • An active DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of the offer.

Compensation:
This position is expected to offer an annual salary of $42,000, contingent upon experience, education, and relevant certifications.
