The Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Club's brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park. The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018 and 2023) and Dash and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Houston Dynamo Football Club is seeking an individual for the position of Project Manager, Marketing. This role is part of the Marketing team and supports the Vice President of Marketing, as well as the extended Marketing team in orchestrating daily and large-scale projects across various facets of HDFC, encompassing integrated marketing campaigns, ticketing, corporate partnerships, public relations, community engagement, youth programs and more. This individual will bring their project and time management experience, as well as their communication skills to life on a daily basis to ensure the Marketing teams' success in seamless execution of projects and delivering assets in a timely manner to internal departments, as well as external stakeholders. The Project Manager will play an integral role – driving collaboration and efficient workflow within the Marketing team as well as with other members of organization – to enable the collective to achieve successful outcomes via smart processes, project management, open and timely communication and on-going analysis of procedures. This individual will have a proven track record of managing complex projects, hitting deadlines, and must be meticulously organized and an excellent communicator. Duties and responsibilities
  • Support Vice President of Marketing in planning process and project management for Integrated Marketing, Creative, Video Production, Digital, Social, Advertising and Promotions
  • Oversee incoming project requests and task management in project management platform, Wrike. Responsibilities include assigning owners, verifying delivery dates, obtaining approvals and tagging appropriate stakeholders for tracking purposes.
  • Collaborate with Marketing team and other department leads to understand priorities and flag resourcing concerns based on current or incoming requests
  • Responsible for helping prioritize projects and deliverables
  • Further develop and manage cross-functional processes, including the creative project management system, to streamline workflow and ensure on-time delivery of assets
  • Own and drive timelines on projects; lead project-based communication with other functional and department teams
  • Responsible for high-level written and verbal communication, both internally and externally, to manage processes and other required tasks.
  • Maintain and update necessary reporting
  • Internal systems expert and keeper of process
  • Contribute to ongoing process refinements and ways of working
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business or other relevant field
  • Two to three (2-3) years in marketing operations and/or project management experience, preferably within an agency or sports and entertainment industry
  • Proficiency in project management platforms, with advanced knowledge of Wrike preferred.
  • Ability to lead and drive alignment across teams and seniority levels
  • Experience in creative environment and/or content creation a plus
  • Enthusiastic, solution-oriented attitude in accepting work and new challenges
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and efficiently lead and prioritize multiple projects at the same time
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends as required by project demands or event schedules
