Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between project management, operational leadership, functional teams, legal advisors, and external stakeholders regarding project reporting and contractual matters.
  • Ensure adherence to the established Delegation of Authority (DOA) and Proposal and Contract Development Policy.
  • Coordinate and engage in both internal and external project reviews and reporting sessions with project, functional, and client management.
  • Oversee the monthly project forecasting and quarterly review processes, ensuring thorough participation.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage customer contracts, providing strategic advice on contractual and commercial issues, ensuring timely communication of necessary notices.
  • Review, negotiate, and modify agreements, ensuring alignment with company policies regarding terms, conditions, risk factors, and insurance requirements.
  • Develop and implement project-specific subcontracts and vendor agreements, ensuring compliance with prime contract requirements and reviewing deviations from standard agreements.
  • Collaborate closely with project and functional teams to identify, mitigate, and manage commercial risks during project execution, ensuring compliance from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Support the development and negotiation of contract change orders and facilitate dispute resolution as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting reports to executive management and the risk management committee.
  • Enhance communication and coordination among all parties by consolidating and preparing timely correspondence for customers, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Provide training specific to project staff, including orientation, contract turnover, and project closeout processes.
  • Assist in the closeout of various contracts, including warranty-related issues.
  • Perform additional duties as required or requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in project management or project controls for capital construction projects, including at least 5 years of direct commercial or legal experience in negotiating terms and conditions for large-scale EPC projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and take initiative.
  • Capacity to engage as an integrated member of project management teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of gathering and evaluating information from diverse sources to provide management with actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to assess legal and business risks in various scenarios and make recommendations to minimize overall project and company risk.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for interfacing with customers and subcontractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, handle frequent interruptions, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and internet research.
  • Willingness to travel regularly (approximately 50%) as required, with a sustained presence at project sites when necessary.
