POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President of Operations at Reading Truck Body plays a crucial role in overseeing all manufacturing operations and support functions. They are responsible for ensuring objectives related to Quality, Safety, Delivery, Cost, and team member engagement are met. This position reports directly to the President of Reading Truck Body.



KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop a clear vision to support the company's growth ambitions.
  • Initiate culture change to create a unified company culture across all manufacturing sites.
  • Assess talent landscape and focus on developing a pipeline to meet operational needs.
  • Drive financial discipline to evaluate opportunities and maintain a healthy balance sheet.
  • Establish a safe work environment that prioritizes compliance and safety.

Manufacturing Responsibilities:
  • Ensure consistency across facilities and implement best practices.
  • Drive a comprehensive manufacturing strategy focusing on automation and lean practices.
  • Maintain high standards of manufacturing operations, product quality, safety, and cost.
  • Lead efficiency improvements and monitor department metrics.
  • Manage investments, headcount, and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Develop and motivate the team while focusing on continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence Responsibilities:
  • Assess facilities, manage upgrades and capital projects.
  • Oversee logistics and materials group to meet inventory goals.
  • Maintain equipment reliability and support EHS programs.
  • Implement strategies to improve core processes and drive productivity.
  • Utilize Six Sigma/Lean tools for continuous improvement.

EXPERTISE REQUIRED:
  • Manufacturing Leader with over 12 years of experience.
  • Experience with factory automation, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
  • Effective leader with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen and operational P&L responsibility.
  • Success in driving performance and safety improvements.
  • Experience in acquisitions integration is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel domestically when required.
