Position Overview

Threshold Rehabilitation Services, Inc. is a dedicated human services organization committed to assisting individuals with disabilities. We are currently seeking a motivated and collaborative professional to fulfill the role of Behavior Support Specialist within our IDD Residential Services Department.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Behavior Support Specialist include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments to identify the unique needs of individuals receiving personalized care, particularly those with a Behavior Support Plan (BSP) or related protocols.
  • Creating and updating individualized Behavior Support Plans tailored to assigned clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintaining effective communication with support teams, providing ongoing training related to Behavior Support Plans, and documenting these training sessions accurately.
  • Participating in medical, psychiatric, and therapeutic appointments as necessary, and compiling summaries and data to facilitate effective communication during these meetings.
  • Producing documentation that meets agency expectations concerning Behavior Support.
  • Assisting in agency training initiatives focused on Behavior Support and other clinical areas.
  • Presenting Behavior Support Plans to the Rights Committee for review.
  • Offering guidance to support teams during crisis situations and providing debriefing as needed.
  • Adhering to Threshold's Confidentiality Policy at all times.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of IDD Services.
Work Schedule

This position offers flexible part-time hours, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, totaling less than 30 hours per week.

Training and Development

Comprehensive paid training will be provided to ensure success in this role.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a Pennsylvania Behavior Support Specialist License or a Master's Degree in Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Education Applied Behavioral Analysis, or Gerontology.
  • Training in conducting Functional Behavioral Analysis and positive Behavior Support methodologies.
  • A minimum of two years of experience supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
  • Proficiency in computer skills is essential.
  • A valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Compliance with pre-employment requirements, including drug screening, physical examination, TB testing, and background checks.
