Job Overview

Threshold Rehabilitation Services, Inc. is a dedicated human services organization focused on enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. We are currently in search of a motivated and collaborative professional to fill the role of Behavior Support Specialist within our IDD Residential Services Department.

Key Responsibilities

The Behavior Support Specialist will be tasked with:

  • Conducting thorough assessments to identify the unique needs of individuals receiving personalized care, including those with Behavior Support Plans and Restrictive Procedure Plans.
  • Creating and continuously updating tailored Behavior Support Plans for assigned clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintaining clear and consistent communication with support teams, providing ongoing training related to Behavior Support Plans and documenting these training sessions accurately.
  • Participating in medical, psychiatric, and therapeutic appointments as necessary, and compiling summaries and data to facilitate effective communication.
  • Producing required documentation in accordance with agency expectations related to Behavior Support.
  • Assisting in agency training initiatives concerning Behavior Support and other clinical areas.
  • Presenting Behavior Support Plans to the Rights Committee.
  • Offering guidance to support teams during crisis situations and providing debriefing support.
  • Adhering to Threshold's Confidentiality Policy and fulfilling additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of IDD Services.
Work Schedule

This position offers flexible hours, operating Monday through Friday, with less than 30 hours per week, making it an excellent opportunity for part-time employment.

Training and Qualifications

Comprehensive paid training will be provided. Candidates should possess:

  • A valid Pennsylvania Behavior Support Specialist License or a Master's Degree or higher in relevant fields such as Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Applied Behavioral Analysis, or Gerontology.
  • Training in Functional Behavioral Analysis and positive Behavior Support methodologies.
  • A minimum of two years of experience supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
  • Proficiency in computer usage.
  • A valid PA Driver's License and a clean PA Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Access to a vehicle for work purposes, with valid registration and insurance.
  • Completion of pre-employment requirements including drug screening, physical examination, TB testing, and background checks.
