Position: Environmental Compliance Specialist

Job Description:
- Ensure company compliance with environmental, chemical, waste management, and permit regulations at various Central Virginia/Western Virginia locations linked to Electric Distribution operational teams.
- Share responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of work sites to meet regulatory and company Environmental, Health, and Safety standards.
- Communicate and prepare reports for submission internally, externally, governmental agencies, and customers.
- Support contracted staff, inspect, or assess, and offer recommendations on environmental compliance matters to personnel in charge of compliance tasks and management.
- Conduct environmental training for site personnel on chemical and waste material handling, spill prevention, erosion and sediment control, and other compliance topics.

Skills and Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in overseeing environmental operations and construction.
  • Dual Certification: Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector OR Virginia Department of Environmental Quality Stormwater Management Inspector
  • Hazardous Materials Trained or HAZWOPER or RCRA Hazardous Waste Trained
