Job DescriptionJob Description

Under direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, performs routine grounds maintenance that includes trimming, watering, raking, moving, weeding, planting and trash/litter removal. Operates truck and/or powered grounds equipment. Makes minor irrigation repairs and irrigation timer adjustments.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Irrigates landscaped areas as needed.
  • Replants landscaped areas as needed.
  • Picks up and disposes of litter.
  • Trims weeds around walks, flowerbeds, and walks using appropriate hand tools.
  • Performs hand-weeding activities.
  • Lays sod as appropriate to the requirements of the facility.
  • Trims trees and bushes.
  • Assists with small construction tasks such as excavating and handling and/or transportation of equipment and materials.
  • Picks up trash on a regular schedule.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (other duties may require on occasion to repair and maintain physical structure or equipment).
  • Makes minor repairs to the irrigation and adjustments to the irrigation timer.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the other duties described herein, each Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
  • Obtain and retain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • One (1) previous work experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The ability to lift, push and pull up to 75 pounds.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Virginia Racing Commission License

Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of three (3) years driving experience.
