This position is eligible for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds which includes a one-time $750 sign-on bonus payable after the completion of 90 days of employment as well as a monthly stipend of up to $694.50 which is based upon the hours worked in the previous month for as long as the funds are guaranteed by the State.

About Your TeamYour team is part of the Family Care Community Partnership Program which is a prevention program funded by the RI Department of Children, Youth, and Families to support the success of families living in the state of RI.

FCCP brings community-based service providers, family members, and friends together to build a stronger, brighter future for families.

What You'll Be DoingYou will be responsible for assisting and educating families involved in transition to Family Care Community Partnership (FCCP).

This includes family advocacy, education of the service planning process and implementing treatment plans focused on family-centered practices.

Your Main PrioritiesWhile additional responsibilities are likely to arise on the job, you will primarily:

  • Help families revise the Family Care Plan as needed and ensure all appropriate people are included (i.e., family, Social Worker, referral agency, etc.) while adhering to all HIPPA and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Responsible for on-going data collection to serve evaluation and assessment of the Family Care Plan.
  • Provides on-going support to families through empowerment and motivation.
  • Works with parents on improvement of child management skills through modeling, education, support, and encouraging proper parental coping skills.
  • Coordinates services with schools, police, healthcare providers, court systems, and other service providers.

Who You AreRequirements, Skills & Abilities:

  • Associate degree in social work or related field required; bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred.
  • Experience in child welfare, parent education, home-based services, and/or crisis intervention required.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, family dynamics, substance abuse, home management, and parenting skills preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and time-management skills.
  • Basic computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to communicate and effectively interact with a diverse population.
  • Collaboration and teamwork.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance and car registration.
  • Must authorize Child & Family to complete a motor vehicle records check.
  • The ideal candidate will be required to meet all background checks and medical clearances required for the position.

Physical RequirementsDirect Service Staff (Travel as part of position):This position requires time sitting, standing, walking, driving, carrying and lifting up to 25lbs.

This role also requires operating desktop, laptop and/or cell phone, and communicating with colleagues.
