About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Child & Family. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum that emphasizes learning through play, in accordance with Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF), BrightStars Quality Rating and Improvement System, and the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards.
  • Provide optimal development and well-being of children through family-centered childcare, including planning and implementation of curriculum.
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and cognitive needs are met.
  • Supervise and care for children in the classroom, overseeing Teacher Assistants, Substitutes, Interns, and Volunteers.
  • Collaborate with the Education Coordinator to develop a monthly curriculum, including lesson plans, specific standards, and outlining activities to meet children's needs.
  • Plan and participate in scheduled parent conferences, fostering positive relationships with parents and families.
  • Submit paperwork in a timely manner, including daily notes, attendance, meal sheets, newsletters, developmental profiles, and family goal sheets.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a manner that adheres to all health and safety protocols, addressing and reporting any potential hazards to ensure the safety of children.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field (preferred).
  • RIELDS certificate relevant to the position (a plus).
  • Minimum 1 year's experience in a classroom setting, with knowledge of Early Childhood development and/or experience in a childcare setting (preferred).
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and time-management skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to communicate and effectively interact with a diverse population.
  • Collaboration and teamwork.
  • Valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and car registration.
  • Authorization for Child & Family to complete a motor vehicle records check.
  • Meet all background checks and medical clearances required for the position.
Physical Requirements

This position requires time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, and lifting up to 25lbs. The role also involves operating desktop, laptop, and/or cell phone, and communicating with colleagues.
