Job Summary: The Assistant Director Cooperative Education assists with the overall management of the Cooperative Education Program. Develops working relationships with students, employers, faculty and key University Administrative offices. Provides guidance, trains, and/or may supervise Cooperative Education Program staff or students.

Additional Department Summary: Assists the Director with the overall management of the Cooperative Education Program and the student coordination load by developing working relationships with students, employers, faculty and key University Administrative offices. Supervises all other staff (professional, support and student employees) when called upon by the Director. Represents the Program to audiences on and off campus including Deans, Department Heads, Faculty and Employers. Serves as an on-campus advocate for students participating in the Cooperative Education Program. Develops employment opportunities and assists with the placement of undergraduate and graduate students directly related to their academic studies. Coordinates all technology systems and data tracking and assessment. Facilitates usage of third-party and in-house systems for student record management, data storage, and employer historical recruiting data. Supports the Director in program and staff evaluations and student and employer recruitment and retention strategies. Reviews program policies and procedures. Assists with supervision of staff and office assignments. Serves as a liaison for companies seeking to establish a cooperative education oriented student job program. Completes required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace. Holds staff accountable for completion of required training. Has personal accountability for financial reporting and responsibility for establishing, enforcing, and following internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of career services, student services, student advising, and/or co-op experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of ecareer services, student services, student advising, and/or co-op experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to reason and problem solve. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills, including public speaking. Strong organizational skills. Knowledge of computers and standard software programs. Demonstrated commitment to expanding multicultural knowledge, awareness, and skills as evidenced through demonstrating self-awareness; understanding and valuing others; demonstrating knowledge of social inequalities; interacting effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, Human Resources, Business or related field. Three (3) or more years in a university setting working in Career Services or Cooperative Education.
