Visual Arts Educator

Job Objectives:
- To cultivate a learning atmosphere where students thrive academically, socially, and physically in alignment with educational philosophy and objectives.
- To execute a comprehensive educational program tailored to the designated grade level and subject area(s) utilizing the prescribed curriculum, suitable materials, and effective instructional methodologies.
- To act as a student advocate, role model, and professional resource for parents, the community, and the educational system.
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Valid teaching certification in the assigned grade level and subject area(s).
- Ability to meet employment suitability criteria under applicable child protection laws.
- Proficient in both oral and written communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills, emphasizing collaboration and communication with diverse groups to enhance student achievement.
- Capability to design and implement curriculum and programs that cater to the specific needs of students in the designated grade levels and subject areas.
- Adept at identifying and resolving issues as a constructive team member.
- Proficient in utilizing technology for communication, instructional planning, data management, and report generation.
- Physical capability to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.
- Commitment to punctuality and regular attendance.
- Any other qualifications as required by the Board.
- Exhibit support for the educational system and its vision, goals, and priorities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of child development and the characteristics of the assigned age group.
- Show proficiency in the prescribed curriculum, current educational research, and technological tools; implement best instructional practices to meet diverse learning styles and achieve measurable outcomes.
- Utilize technology for instructional planning and to facilitate student learning.
- Model innovative technology use for students.
- Oversee the integration of technology within the classroom.
- Ensure a safe and orderly learning environment through appropriate student supervision.
- Provide tailored instruction for students with diverse needs, including those in exceptional education and those with limited English proficiency.
- Select and adapt materials that support learning objectives and accommodate various learning styles and backgrounds.
- Establish effective routines and behavior management techniques.
- Create a challenging yet supportive learning climate.
- Organize instructional time and administrative activities efficiently.
- Guide and supervise student teachers, volunteers, and paraprofessionals as assigned.
- Utilize ongoing assessments to track student progress and inform instructional planning.
- Encourage self-assessment among students and assist in developing improvement plans.
- Communicate timely and relevant information regarding student progress to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Set high expectations for all students and establish relevant learning outcomes.
- Employ strategies to enhance critical, creative, and evaluative thinking skills among students.
- Instruct on safety procedures and proper material handling.
- Promote student responsibility, social behavior, integrity, cultural diversity, and respect through role modeling and educational activities.
- Recognize signs of student distress or abuse and take appropriate action.
- Manage school funds in accordance with established procedures.
- Participate in state-approved evaluation programs as required.
- Supervise students during assigned duties before, during, and after school.
- Assist with extracurricular and co-curricular activities as assigned.
- Engage in school committees, task forces, and planning teams as required.
- Support school improvement initiatives through active participation in school events and programs.
- Commit to personal professional development and adhere to professional standards and ethics.
- Administer state and standardized testing as assigned, ensuring a secure testing environment.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student and school matters.
- Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.
- Identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement proactively.
- Report unusual events or work irregularities to appropriate personnel.
- Respond promptly to inquiries and feedback in a constructive manner.
- Submit reports and records accurately and on time.
- Utilize and care for school resources responsibly while supervising students in their use.
- Adhere to school policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Report absences according to established protocols and prepare for substitutes as necessary.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the principal or supervisors.
Evaluation: Performance will be assessed in accordance with state education department policies.
