Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Guest Services Agent to join our team at Le Meridien Central Park. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience during their stay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Service: Greet and welcome all guests approaching the front desk, providing a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Front Desk Operations: Maintain proper operation of the PBX console, ensure all hotel standards are met, and review the front office log and trace file daily.
  • Communication: Answer guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities, and hours of operation in a timely manner, and ensure logging and delivery of packages, mail, and messages to guests and meeting rooms.
  • Cash Handling: Follow all cash handling and credit policies, and be aware of all rates, packages, and special promotions as listed in the Red Book.
  • Teamwork: Be familiar with all in-house groups, closed-out and restricted dates, and obtain all necessary information when taking room reservations and follow the rate-quoting scenario.
  • Emergency Procedures: Have knowledge of emergency procedures and assist as needed, and handle check-ins and checkouts in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner.
  • Technology: Fully comprehend and be able to operate all relevant aspects of the front desk computer system, and be able to perform and complete all tasks and duties on the shift checklist in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Administrative Tasks: Balance and prepare individual paperwork for closing of shift according to hotel standards, and maintain and market promotions and guest programs.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean work area, and assist guests with safe deposit boxes.
Requirements
  • Education: College coursework in a related field is helpful, and a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: Experience in a hotel or a related field is preferred, and computer experience is required.
  • Skills: Customer service experience is preferred, and the ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines is essential.
  • Physical Demands: The ability to stand during entire shifts, and light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Communication: The ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
