Overview:

Gilbane Building Company is actively seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a technically proficient individual who excels in communication and thrives in collaborative environments on intricate projects.

The Senior Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager to establish and manage project plans, ensuring effective distribution of information both internally and externally.

Your Role:

In this position, you will primarily operate on-site, with occasional visits to the office for training and meetings. You will be expected to:

  • Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process.
  • Prepare essential project documentation.
  • Facilitate timely material deliveries.
  • Estimate and process change orders.
  • Prepare monthly payment requests and shop drawings.
  • Establish and oversee project schedules, costs, and control procedures.
  • Conduct constructability and coordination reviews.
  • Negotiate changes with subcontractors and clients.
  • Ensure job site safety and provide orientation.
  • Lead project meetings.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a construction management or general contracting environment, particularly on large-scale projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with financial management.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Experience with Procore and CMiC is preferred.
