Job Summary

The Cumberland County Government is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of our power, lighting, security, access control, video surveillance, telephone, UPS, and communication systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and communication networks.
  • Install, test, and troubleshoot electrical equipment, including generators, UPS systems, and fire alarm systems.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal system performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary materials and equipment.
  • Document all work performed, including maintenance records and system upgrades.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support and emergency response.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and training.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid State of Maine driver's license.
  • Valid Maine Journeyman license.
  • A minimum of five years of post-license experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of IEEE standards, fire alarm systems, telephone systems, and computer networking.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education to be considered.
