Position Summary

The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for the comprehensive upkeep and repair of machinery, tools, and equipment as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Technician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, adjust, and repair production machinery, heavy vehicles, and specialized equipment as required.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools to perform repairs, lubrication, welding, cutting, and part replacements.
  • Execute welding tasks and operate cutting torches as necessary.
  • Conduct general maintenance on facility structures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment, determine necessary repairs, and consult with the Lead Technician for approval.
  • Replace defective components, including electrical wiring, motors, controls, and circuit boards.
  • Install machinery and electrical systems, ensuring they function correctly.
  • Dismantle equipment to access and remove faulty parts using hoists, cranes, and various tools.
  • Lubricate and clean machinery and components to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Perform additional duties related to the role as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant training and experience.
  • Certification from a technical or vocational school, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and follow detailed instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and skillset.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity, carpentry, or related fields is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. from ground level; assistance should be sought for heavier items.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks involving considerable use of arms, legs, and the entire body, including bending, climbing, and reaching.
