Library Support Staff

As a Library Page, you will play a crucial role in this mission. This position is designed to provide insight into the workings of a library system, offering a unique opportunity to explore a potential career path in this field.
We seek individuals who exhibit a strong work ethic, reliability, and outstanding communication skills. As a representative of the library, a friendly and approachable demeanor is essential.
Key ResponsibilitiesUnder the guidance of a Page supervisor, the Library Page will:
- Exhibit a positive and courteous attitude while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Organize and shelve books, CDs, DVDs, and other library materials in proper order.
- Assist patrons with inquiries, helping them locate materials and directing them to the appropriate resources.
- Support patrons with basic technology, including computers and audio/visual equipment.
- Prepare library materials requested by patrons.
- Assist staff in checking materials for damage and removing them from circulation.
- Help set up public areas for events and programs.
- Perform additional related tasks as required.
Required Education and Certifications:
- Current enrollment in an accredited degree program.
- Employment certificate for minors under 18 as mandated by state law.
Required Skills:
- Ability to accurately sort and arrange items in alphanumeric order.
- Strong organizational skills and capacity to follow detailed instructions in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage with a diverse audience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Demonstrated reliability and professionalism.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience troubleshooting basic computer and printer issues.
- Familiarity with eReaders and library technologies.
- Ability to communicate in multiple languages.

This position is set within a public service library, requiring moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 25 lbs and pushing book trucks.
ScheduleThis is a part-time role with hours scheduled during regular branch operations.
