Position Title: IT Senior Associate Level 1 - Web Services Support

Location: LaGuardia Community College

Job Overview:

The IT Senior Associate plays a pivotal role in executing advanced professional tasks within technology-driven fields. While the specific areas of expertise may differ, these associates typically engage in a variety of activities encompassing software development, technical support, and system communications, tailored to the requirements of the Information Technology department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and enhance a diverse array of AWS services to provide efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Contribute to the formulation of a comprehensive disaster recovery strategy, incorporating automated backup and failover mechanisms.
  • Develop and assess code for web applications, primarily utilizing HTML, XML, or JavaScript.
  • Create and refine secure web pages to meet evolving business demands while integrating multimedia elements.
  • Deliver ongoing support for various web properties.
  • Manage the maintenance, expansion, and scalability of the college's web platforms.
  • Facilitate communication with team members and supervisors regarding website direction and collaborate with web designers to align with visual design objectives.
  • Code and script applications as necessary.
  • Conduct routine site evaluations and maintenance as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
  2. A minimum of ten years of relevant experience, which can be satisfied by one of the following: ten years of full-time employment in a technology-related role; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time experience; or a Bachelor's degree with six years of full-time experience in a technology-related field.
  3. Proficiency in the English language.
  4. A valid Motor Vehicle Driver's license in New York State may be necessary for certain positions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in a comprehensive range of web development tools, including .NET, C#, PHP, JAVA, HTML, CSS, and WordPress CMS.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft interfaces, particularly CUNYFirst ERP.
  • Familiarity with API development and e-Commerce practices.
  • Knowledge of SEO, SSL, and PCI-Compliance coding.
  • Ability to convert standard web pages to responsive designs across various platforms and browsers.

Compensation:

Salary: $91,298
