Role Overview
The Portfolio Manager plays a crucial role in our expanding Middle Market Commercial Banking team. In this capacity, you will serve as the primary contact for client relations, engaging directly with clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a designated portfolio of commercial clients in collaboration with the relationship manager.
- Oversee and report on portfolio management metrics (delinquency, problem loans, exceptions, tickler tracking, etc.) as directed by the Chief Credit Officer.
- Coordinate the collection and evaluation of financial statements, tax returns, and compliance certificates to meet client reporting obligations.
- Monitor the assigned portfolio for early indicators of financial distress and collaborate with borrowers to devise and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive credit packages for annual reviews, renewals, loan requests, and portfolio assessments.
- Structure and underwrite complex commercial loan transactions within the assigned portfolio and for new business opportunities.
- Provide credit recommendations to the appropriate credit administration level.
- Review and negotiate loan documentation in conjunction with legal counsel, ensuring proper closure of renewals and modifications.
- Act as a liaison for internal audits, loan reviews, compliance assessments, and regulatory examinations.
- Adhere to all bank policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal regulations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business, finance, economics, or accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the financial services sector, with a solid understanding of the banking environment and products; prior commercial credit experience is highly desirable.
- Formal bank credit training is preferred, with a strong grasp of credit and risk principles, mitigants, and banking policies/procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of risks (market, rate, leverage, etc.) as they pertain to the lending process.
- Familiarity with commercial lending policies and procedures, including knowledge of loan agreements, structuring, and collateral management.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with financial forecasting models.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities, with a proactive approach to managing and prioritizing tasks.
- Proven interpersonal skills with a track record of establishing client relationships and working effectively within a team environment.
