Role Summary:

The System Administrator, also referred to as Analyst, Information Workplace Services, plays a crucial role in supporting high-stakes programs that handle classified information systems. Your success in this position will hinge on your ability to create, implement, and sustain secure, efficient environments across various classified initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer IT systems within a diverse environment of Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux.
  • Possess a solid understanding of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and server replication methods.
  • Collaborate effectively within a dynamic technological setting, employing troubleshooting techniques to resolve complex technical issues, including hardware and operating system integration.
  • Have a grasp of data RAID, backup technologies, and install software applications as requested by users.
  • Work alongside Cybersecurity experts to uphold security protocols and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes.
  • Achieve Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within six months of employment.
  • Be prepared for occasional work beyond standard hours, as systems operate 24/7.
  • Travel may be required based on business needs.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree is typically required; however, four years of direct experience may substitute for a degree.
  • A current, active, and transferable U.S. government-issued secret security clearance is mandatory prior to starting.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, VMware, administration, backup, and recovery processes is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux systems.
  • Possession of Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification).
  • Knowledge of NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF standards.
  • Experience with data storage solutions, including NAS and SAN technologies.
  • Familiarity with IT project lifecycle management processes.
  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX or other virtualization methods.
  • Support experience for engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange.
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting.

Compensation for this role ranges from 53,000 USD to 103,000 USD, reflecting various experience levels. Nightwing considers multiple factors when extending offers, including role responsibilities, candidate experience, and location.
