Role Summary:

The Systems Administrator, also referred to as an Analyst in Information Workplace Services, plays a crucial role in supporting essential programs that handle classified information systems. Your success in this position will hinge on your ability to design, implement, and sustain secure and efficient environments across various classified initiatives. You will collaborate with program teams to identify computing needs and devise comprehensive solutions to complex IT infrastructure challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer IT systems within a diverse environment that includes Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux.
  • Possess a solid understanding of Windows Server operations or Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and server replication techniques.
  • Work collaboratively in a dynamic technological setting, employing troubleshooting methods to address technical issues of moderate to high complexity, including hardware and operating system integration.
  • Understand data RAID configurations and backup technologies. Install and configure software applications as requested by users.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity experts to uphold security protocols. Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures, along with other assigned tasks.
  • Be prepared to meet Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within six months of employment.
  • Be available for operational support outside standard working hours as systems are active 24/7.
  • Occasional travel may be required based on business needs.
  • Onsite Requirement: This position requires employees to work onsite 100% of the time.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree is typically required; however, candidates with four years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A current active and transferable U.S. government-issued secret security clearance is mandatory prior to employment. U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
  • Proficiency in Windows systems is essential.
  • Experience with Active Directory, VMware, and backup and recovery processes is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux systems.
  • Certification in accordance with Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent and an Operating System Certification).
  • Familiarity with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF guidelines.
  • Experience with data storage solutions, including NAS and SAN technologies.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology project lifecycle management methodologies.
  • Experience with VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX or similar virtualization technologies.
  • Support experience for engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange.
  • Experience in High Performance Computing (HPC) within a Linux environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is competitive and reflective of experience levels. Nightwing considers various factors when extending offers, including role responsibilities, work experience, education, and key skills.
