Role Summary:

The System Administrator, also referred to as an Analyst in Information Workplace Services, will work collaboratively within a diverse team to support critical programs that handle classified information systems. Success in this position requires the ability to develop, implement, and sustain secure and efficient environments across various classified initiatives. Program teams depend on your expertise to define computing needs and devise comprehensive solutions to address intricate IT infrastructure challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer IT systems within a mixed environment of Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux.
  • Possess a solid understanding of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and server replication methods.
  • Collaborate effectively in a dynamic technological setting, employing troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical issues of moderate to high complexity, including hardware and operating system integration.
  • Understand data RAID configurations and backup technologies; install and configure software applications as requested by users.
  • Work alongside Cybersecurity professionals to uphold security standards; provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures.
  • Achieve Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within six months of employment.
  • Be prepared for operational demands that may extend beyond standard working hours, as systems are operational 24/7.
  • Travel may be required based on business needs, with an estimated frequency of 10%.
  • Onsite Position: This role requires employees to work onsite 100% of the time.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree is typically required; however, candidates with four years of direct experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A current, active, and transferable U.S. government-issued secret security clearance is mandatory prior to starting the role. U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, VMware, and backup and recovery processes is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux systems.
  • Possession of Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification).
  • Knowledge of NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF compliance.
  • Experience with data storage solutions, including NAS and SAN technologies.
  • Familiarity with Information Technology project lifecycle management processes.
  • Experience with VMware vCenter, vSphere, and ESX or other virtualization technologies.
  • Support experience for engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange.
  • Experience in High Performance Computing (HPC) within a Linux environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between 53,000 USD and 103,000 USD, reflecting a good faith estimate for all experience levels. Various factors influence the final offer, including role responsibilities, candidate experience, location, education, and key skills.
