Role Summary:

The Systems Administrator, also referred to as an Analyst in Information Workplace Services, plays a crucial role in supporting essential programs that handle classified information systems. This position requires the ability to design, implement, and sustain secure and efficient environments across various classified initiatives. Collaboration with program teams is vital to identify computing needs and develop comprehensive solutions for intricate IT infrastructure challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer IT systems within a mixed environment of Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux.
  • Possess a solid understanding of Windows Server operations or Linux basics, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and server replication techniques.
  • Collaborate effectively within a dynamic technological setting, employing troubleshooting skills to address technical issues of moderate to high complexity, including hardware and operating system integration.
  • Understand data RAID configurations and backup technologies. Install and configure software applications as requested by users.
  • Work alongside Cybersecurity experts to uphold security standards. Provide comprehensive documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures.
  • Be prepared to meet Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within six months of employment.
  • Systems operate continuously, occasionally necessitating work beyond standard hours.
  • Travel may be required based on business needs, estimated at 10%.
  • Onsite Position: This role requires employees to work onsite full-time.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree is typically required; alternatively, four years of relevant experience may be accepted.
  • Possession of a current, active, and transferable U.S. government-issued secret security clearance is mandatory prior to starting.
  • Experience with Windows systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, VMware, and backup and recovery processes is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux systems.
  • Certification in accordance with Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) and an Operating System Certification.
  • Knowledge of NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF standards.
  • Experience with data storage solutions, including NAS and SAN technologies.
  • Familiarity with Information Technology project lifecycle management.
  • Experience with VMware vCenter, vSphere, and ESX or similar virtualization technologies.
  • Support experience for engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange.
  • Experience in High Performance Computing (HPC) within a Linux environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting.
