Role Summary:
The NOC Systems Engineer is tasked with performing regular assessments of technology and service alignment against the IT Solutions LLC standards for a designated group of clients. This role involves frequent travel to client locations to evaluate their technology infrastructure. You will ensure that all client devices and services are provisioned, secure, updated, documented, and functioning at peak performance. Additionally, you will address minor issues on-site and collaborate with other teams to resolve more complex challenges, documenting your findings for our Client Strategy team to utilize in developing the client's Technology Strategy Roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Conduct standards alignment evaluations of client environments (both remote and on-site).
- Record audit results in a technology road mapping tool.
- Implement straightforward technical remediation tasks based on audit outcomes.
- Examine client LAN and WAN infrastructures to detect technology lifecycle discrepancies, faults, performance challenges, and suboptimal configurations.
- Analyze incident trends to uncover opportunities for improvement aimed at reducing reactive incidents.
- Identify potential risks within clients' IT ecosystems.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Advisor (SA) to guide clients on optimal usage and configuration of LAN and WAN systems.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, infrastructure reports, ranked workstation reports, and other strategic documents for quarterly and roadmap discussions.
- Establish and maintain a technical documentation library for client system configurations.
- Work collaboratively with other support teams to provide comprehensive IT solutions.
- Deliver project, time, and materials services for scheduled after-hours customer support.
Technical Skills:
- 3-5+ years of experience in general systems administration.
- Proficiency in Windows Server Technologies and administration.
- Experience with Windows Active Directory (group policies, server roles).
- Familiarity with Office365 administration.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies: VMWare/Hyper-V.
- Understanding of network and server security.
- Experience with VPN technologies and solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure administration.
- Familiarity with Azure Active Directory.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Cloud Suite.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to processes.
- Proven ability to manage client expectations effectively.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset and a commitment to solving client challenges as a team.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to document technical environments in a standardized and organized manner.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work at various client locations.
- Must be local for client accessibility.
- Willingness to participate in a minimal-load on-call rotation.
