Job Overview:

The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) plays a critical role in maintaining the operational security posture of information systems. This position requires close collaboration with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Information System Owner (ISO) to ensure the security integrity of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the ISSM in fulfilling their responsibilities.
  • Prepare, review, and update security authorization packages.
  • Implement and oversee procedures for the sanitization and destruction of hardware and media.
  • Notify the ISSM of any changes that may impact the security authorization of information systems.
  • Conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with established security protocols.
  • Coordinate changes to system hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and Authorizing Official (AO).
  • Monitor recovery processes to ensure security features are restored and operational.
  • Maintain current and accessible security documentation for authorized personnel.
  • Collect and review audit records, documenting any anomalies.
  • Participate in required technical and security training relevant to assigned duties.
  • Execute self-inspection procedures for cybersecurity, including security coordination and assessment reviews.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and assist in implementing countermeasures.
  • Prepare reports detailing the status of security measures in place.
  • Perform ISSO duties for both internal and external clients.
  • Conduct security impact analyses for all configuration management changes.

Qualifications:

Experience: 2 - 5 years in related fields, with prior roles such as System Administrator, Network Administrator, or ISSO.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4 years).

Other Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

Certifications: Must meet certification requirements as outlined in DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level II or Information Assurance Manager II within 6 months of hire.

Security Clearance: Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility and willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph.

This position is essential in ensuring the security and integrity of our information systems, contributing to the mission of IC-CAP LLC.
