Field Sales Account Executive

Galco Industrial Electronics, Inc., a prominent provider in the field of industrial and commercial electrical and electronic controls, automation, and motion products, is seeking a dedicated Outside Sales Account Manager to support our operations in the greater Grand Rapids area. This role is designed to be remote, with the requirement that candidates reside in the Greater Grand Rapids area to facilitate regular in-person engagements.
As a vital member of the Galco sales team, the Outside Sales Account Manager will report directly to the Director of Sales. Key responsibilities include managing a designated territory, engaging with customers, identifying key decision-makers, conducting sales calls, addressing client needs, closing sales, and nurturing vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with distributors, manufacturer's representatives, and both existing and prospective customers within the assigned territory to enhance business opportunities.
- Achieve direct booking targets and distributor sales objectives for the region.
- Develop strategic plans, including pricing recommendations, for all major accounts in the region, securing agreement from the Director of Sales.
- Manage client accounts to ensure satisfaction and create new sales opportunities.
- Participate in sales meetings and company gatherings as needed; may attend industry events and conventions.
- Work closely with Galco management, vendors, inside sales, and technical teams to formulate customer strategies, coordinate follow-up efforts, maximize profitability, finalize orders, and ensure effective project delivery.
- Actively engage in sales meetings, providing updates on sales targets, forecasts, and achievements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree coupled with 3-5 years of field sales leadership experience in the electronics or distribution sector, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of sales, purchasing, operations, systems, vendors, and product management.
- Demonstrated expertise in company products and services.
- Strong persuasive abilities, resilience, and exceptional sales skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation capabilities.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time is essential.
- A valid state driver's license, a clean driving record, and eligibility for coverage by the company's liability insurance are required.
