Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, and services at the most favorable terms for the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze quote requests, assemble Requests for Quotes (RFQs), and evaluate bid responses to make purchasing recommendations based on vendor qualifications and specifications.
- Execute contracts and Purchase Orders (POs) up to approved limits, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
- Manage and update the procure-to-pay process by coordinating drawing approvals, PO change orders, receipts, and invoice payments.
- Act as a resource and promote procurement best practices to internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Conduct vendor management functions, including qualification, approval, onboarding, performance reviews, and non-conformance resolution.
- Coordinate the ordering, relief, and shipment of inventory goods with Inventory personnel, ensuring efficient logistical operations.
- Assist in work order reconciliation and close-out activity within established timelines.
- Partner with Accounts Payable to ensure timely receipt of goods and payment of vendor invoices within accounting periods.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, or similar field preferred.
- 0-2 years relevant experience for Buyer I, 2-4 years for Buyer II, and 4+ years for Buyer III.
- Effective communication and influencing skills, both written and oral, with the ability to share information and ideas clearly and concisely with a range of audiences.
