Job Title: Education and Outreach Manager

About the Organization:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated full-time Education and Outreach Manager to oversee initiatives aimed at enhancing literacy within the community.

This position requires in-person engagement with some flexibility for remote work. Candidates should be willing to relocate to Central Virginia if not already residing in the area. Regular travel to various community sites is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage after-school literacy tutoring programs for local students
  • Develop project timelines in collaboration with supervisory staff
  • Build partnerships with community organizations to promote literacy initiatives
  • Create and implement literacy programs for families and students
  • Engage in ongoing professional development
  • Organize and facilitate community literacy events

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • A minimum of five years in a relevant field
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Education, Psychology, Educational Technology, or a related discipline
  • Familiarity with evidence-based reading strategies
  • Experience in early childhood education settings
  • Strong communication abilities and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Capability to mentor and support educators
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth
  • Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing circumstances
Physical Requirements:

This role primarily involves sedentary work with occasional travel for meetings and community programs. Reliable transportation is required.

Compensation Overview:

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $75,000, accompanied by comprehensive benefits.
