Ophthalmology Clinic Program Assistant Coordinator at the Commonwealth of Virginia

  • Assists with administrative responsibilities and clinical tasks, including monitoring vital signs and reviewing medications.
  • Facilitates clinic operations by managing medical records and aiding in various procedures.
  • Provides essential support to clinical personnel, ensuring smooth clinic functionality.
  • Implements interventions tailored to the developmental needs of patients.
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities, taking into account the requirements of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Creates educational plans for patients and families based on their health literacy needs.
  • Maintains a secure environment and ensures the safe delivery of healthcare services.
  • Exhibits teamwork in the delivery of patient care and actively participates in professional growth.
  • Identifies urgent issues and takes initiative for ongoing professional development.
  • Physical Requirements: Capability to lift, push, or pull weights. Potential exposure to chemicals, blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Preferred 3 years of clinical experience.

Licensure: Required American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification. Current Medical Assistant Certification from a recognized national professional organization.

Alternatively, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification is acceptable.
