Ophthalmology Clinic Program Assistant Coordinator Position at the Commonwealth of Virginia

  • Facilitates administrative responsibilities and clinical tasks such as measuring vital signs and reviewing medications.
  • Aids clinic operations including obtaining medical records and assisting with clinical procedures.
  • Provides comprehensive support to clinical personnel and ensures smooth clinic functioning.
  • Implements interventions tailored to the age and needs of patients.
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities, considering the requirements of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Develops educational plans for patients and families based on health literacy needs.
  • Ensures a secure environment and the safe delivery of healthcare services.
  • Demonstrates collaboration in patient care and contributes to ongoing professional growth.
  • Identifies urgent issues and takes accountability for personal professional development.
  • Physical Requirements: Capability to lift, push, or pull weight. Potential exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious agents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Preferred 3 years of clinical experience.

Licensure: Required certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) as a Health Care Provider in BLS. Current Medical Assistant Certification from a recognized national professional organization.

OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic Certification.
