Position Overview:
The Pediatric Respiratory Therapy Program Manager is a key clinical expert and vital member of the leadership team responsible for overseeing and managing various responsibilities, initiatives, and programs within the Pediatric Respiratory Therapy Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and coordinates projects and programs related to therapy services operations and personnel.
  • Acts as a crucial member of the Pediatric Respiratory Therapy Services leadership team.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of healthcare literacy and current standards in evidence-based respiratory care practices.
  • Chairs the Pediatric Respiratory Therapy Clinical Practice Committee and represents the department on assigned medical center committees.
  • Develops and implements continuing education programs to enhance the quality and consistency of clinical services.
  • Engages actively in research, quality improvement, onboarding, and professional development initiatives.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Compensation:
Position Compensation Range: $76,000 - $122,241.60 Annually

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in a related field to be obtained within three years.
  • Experience: A minimum of five years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
  • Licensure:
    • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
    • Valid license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
    • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.
    • NBRC RRT-ACCS and/or RRT-NPS Specialty Credentials.
    • Completion of the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) basic course for human research within six months.

Physical Requirements:
The role necessitates prolonged periods of sitting and repetitive motions (e.g., computer use). Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential, along with attention to detail and the ability to write legibly.
