Government Grants Program Manager

The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC) is in search of a Government Grants Program Manager. This role primarily involves the exploration, identification, and composition of grant proposals aimed at securing government funding (federal, state, local) while also overseeing the responsibilities that follow the award of such grants. This position offers a hybrid work model, combining both in-office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify government funding opportunities that align with NYSPCC initiatives.
  • Evaluate relevant Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and prepare concise summary documents for team members.
  • Develop strategies to secure new grants and enhance support and revenue streams.
  • Coordinate meetings with essential stakeholders to strategize on government grant prospects.
  • Oversee the drafting and development of government grant proposals, ensuring comprehensive outreach and planning, including narrative, budget, and necessary attachments.
  • Guarantee adherence to all internal and final deadlines, ensuring proposal components are addressed by relevant personnel, including research, training, clinical, and financial teams.
  • Draft proposals aimed at funding or initiating research, direct services, evaluations, or special projects.
  • Manage the grant closeout process, including extensions or renewals as required.
  • Collaborate with Research, Training, Clinical, and Financial teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with project officers and program managers at funding agencies to ensure quality reporting and ongoing funding.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in government grant writing, demonstrating a successful track record.
  • Familiarity with the government structure and granting agencies within New York City and New York State.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to produce high-quality work independently and collaboratively.
  • Outstanding project management skills with a proactive communication approach.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work.

Compensation: Salary ranges from $80,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included, featuring health insurance (medical, dental, and vision), a 403B plan with matching contributions, life insurance, and generous vacation and personal leave.
