Role Overview
In alignment with SMBC Americas' strategic growth initiatives, the Finance Change Management team is undertaking a significant project aimed at reviewing and enhancing essential finance processes within its U.S. operations. This includes areas such as financial planning, reporting, and data management. The Vice President will play a pivotal role in spearheading large-scale programs that focus on the implementation of processes, methodologies, and systems that adhere to regulatory standards and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project management efforts as the primary liaison for critical finance initiatives, ensuring effective execution, process oversight, and stakeholder communication.
  • Monitor and report on project progress utilizing established project management tools, including project plans, charters, business cases, and status updates.
  • Enhance governance, efficiency, and control through process optimization while proactively addressing areas of regulatory concern.
  • Develop innovative solutions to tackle project challenges and identify optimization opportunities across supported teams.
  • Spot opportunities for automation and increased transparency within business processes.
  • Create executive-level presentations and updates, ensuring clarity and visual appeal to facilitate management understanding.
  • Facilitate and oversee working groups dedicated to executing targeted remediation and enhancement activities within the finance sector.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in change or project management within the financial services sector or a related field.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex projects while coordinating across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Extensive knowledge of change and program management, financial operations, risk management, and data governance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and build effective partnerships at all organizational levels.
  • Capacity to thrive in ambiguous environments and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient in producing management-ready materials using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
