Position Overview


The Senior Tech Lead, Marketing Technology Platforms will be instrumental in guiding the strategy, development, and enhancement of our content platform, which supports a B2B commerce product valued at over $4 billion. This platform is utilized by more than 15 product development teams and serves 2500 leading beverage-alcohol brands along with hundreds of thousands of customers.


You will oversee a platform development team responsible for creating capabilities that accelerate and support products developed by SGWS.

This position will entail establishing best practices for Content Management Systems (CMS), including the exploration of new Adobe CMS solutions, maintaining current AEM templates and components, and implementing headless CMS solutions to separate content from presentation.

You will develop enterprise standards for content generation, lifecycle management, distribution, and delivery.

This role will pave the way for new functionalities such as enabling hyper-personalization, leveraging generative AI to revolutionize content management, and constructing an interconnected marketing ecosystem utilizing tools like Target, Workfront, AEP, Analytics, etc.


This position demands a blend of strategic insight, leadership, and hands-on execution to propel the growth and success of marketing technology initiatives.

You will collaborate closely with product leaders to build and prioritize the platform roadmap, which will enhance and expedite our product offerings.

The ideal candidate will possess a balanced mix of technical acumen and robust business skills, engaging with key business stakeholders while also serving as a technical lead for the developers on your team.

Key Skills and Technologies

- Proven experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or comparable Content Management System (CMS) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms.

- Experience with headless CMS implementation, preferably in eCommerce.

- Familiarity with at least one other Adobe Marketing Cloud product (Target, Analytics, Audience Manager, AEP, Campaign, Magento).

- Background in application architecture, systems integration, and development.

- Proficiency in Java concepts and patterns including: Java/J2EE, JSP, Sling, JMS, JUnit, Eclipse.

- Knowledge of various web and application tier technologies: HTML5, JavaScript, React, Rest, GraphQL, Tomcat, Apache HTTP, Solr, open-source packages, CDN, Apollo.

Experience with automation and CI/CD:
- Jenkins, Continuum, Hudson, automated unit testing, Maven, SonarCube, Selenium, Jira, and GitHub.

Primary Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain a prioritized roadmap for the content platform.

- Collaborate with product leaders and development teams to maximize platform capabilities.


- Lead the implementation of Adobe Experience Manager (Sites, Assets) and other marketing technology platforms, providing oversight, architecture, and hands-on contributions to software design, development, and integration.

- Integrate personalization and A/B testing into the user experience.

- Establish design patterns for implementing CMS, DAM, and personalization in a headless architecture. Investigate the use of generative AI within the marketing ecosystem.

- Participate in developing conceptual and logical architectures using packaged software and cloud-native technologies.


- Exhibit strong leadership skills, including the ability to facilitate product team meetings effectively and provide constructive feedback to development teams.

- Independently lead the estimation efforts for product development.

- Manage a combination of onshore and offshore Agile-based development teams, performing code reviews, coaching, and providing best practice guidance to developers.

Minimum Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience implementing Adobe Experience Manager solutions (Sites, Assets) or similar CMS/DAM. Cloud Service Experience preferred.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 10 years) work experience in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.

- Proven experience in leading and managing development teams in an Agile environment.

- Background in application architecture, systems integration, and development.

- Proficiency in Java concepts and patterns including: Java/J2EE, JSP, Sling, JMS, JUnit, Eclipse.

- Familiarity with various web and application tier technologies: HTML5, JS, React, Rest, GraphQL, Tomcat, Apache Http, Solr, open-source packages, CDN.

Experience with automation and CI/CD:
- Jenkins, Continuum, Hudson, automated unit testing, Maven, SonarCube, Selenium, Jira, and GitHub.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Physical Demands

- The role requires considerable time spent sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or mobile device.

- Physical demands may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping.

- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs.
