Role Summary

The primary focus of the IT Solutions Architect is to establish a sustainable technical framework. This role entails designing comprehensive solutions for business or IT products and services, collaborating closely with cross-functional business and technical teams. The ideal candidate possesses a balanced blend of technical expertise and robust business acumen, working alongside an enterprise architect to guide strategic direction. The individual will lead the overarching technical vision for specific platforms or solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives. They will make informed technical decisions regarding solutions and effectively communicate how technology design influences business outcomes. Development or infrastructure teams will utilize this information to implement solutions that meet defined business goals. The IT Solutions Architect is regarded as a leader within the SGWS IT organization, necessitating strong leadership capabilities and associated behavioral competencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and implement suitable platform solutions for designated areas of responsibility.
  • Establish and uphold application development standards across the organization.
  • Ensure that designed solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and platform capabilities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in application development, database design, and/or platform operations, assisting project teams in adhering to enterprise policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to ensure comprehensive solutions are integrated across all IT systems and platforms, effectively mitigating identified risks and fulfilling business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate potential risks and solutions to key stakeholders across functions.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Accountable for:
    • Utilizing technology to address specific business challenges.
    • Selecting appropriate frameworks, platforms, or tech stacks for solution development.
    • Defining application design, module interactions, and overall architecture.
    • Planning for future scalability and maintenance of solutions.
    • Assessing risks associated with third-party frameworks/platforms.
    • Identifying solutions to business challenges.
    • Ensuring the sustainability of proposed solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in IT, with a focus on developing technology solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Expertise in solution/application development challenges, techniques, and implications across one or more platforms, with deep technical knowledge in a specific platform such as SAP, Salesforce, or Microsoft.
  • Broad experience in a single platform environment to facilitate effective application or infrastructure design.
  • Ability to articulate a strong understanding of business processes to create a cohesive vision for a functional product.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaborative team player capable of working across various functions and disciplines.
  • Significant interpersonal and process management skills.
  • Change agent with managerial courage.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical demands include extended periods of sitting and typing on a computer or mobile device.
  • Occasional physical activities may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping.
