Position Overview:

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the establishment and execution of the second line of defense for assessing risks associated with new or modified business activities. This position involves aiding in the creation and implementation of comprehensive governance documentation that facilitates the coordination, documentation, and communication of risks tied to business changes, while collaborating with various business units and independent risk management teams. Additionally, the individual will assist in executing the enhanced processes for assessing risks related to new or modified activities once established.

Moreover, this role includes contributing to the development of a standardized risk assessment methodology applicable across all risk categories. The candidate will review current risk assessment processes and assist in creating formalized governance documentation for risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in formulating the second line of defense policy for risk assessments related to new or modified business activities.
  • Collaborate with business units to implement a change management risk assessment template and process.
  • Critically evaluate new or modified activity risk assessments, identifying key risks and metrics to ensure alignment with the company's risk appetite.
  • Monitor essential change management metrics and report significant concerns.
  • Develop reporting for management and the board to track risks associated with new or modified business activities.
  • Support the creation of a standardized risk assessment methodology and governance documentation, considering existing second line processes.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in governance roles within the second line of defense.
  • Experience in the banking or fintech sectors, including regulatory exposure.
  • Proficiency in data visualization.
  • Experience in assessing and implementing change management programs in banking.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment processes in banking institutions.
  • Knowledge of banking products, processes, and regulations.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing capabilities.
  • Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) systems.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities under pressure, adapting to change and uncertainty.
  • Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, capable of producing effective documentation and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Regulatory experience.
  • Familiarity with Tableau for data visualization and analysis.
  • Experience with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
  • Multi-lingual abilities (Spanish).
Compensation and Benefits:
