Our extensive range of veterinary services includes anesthesiology, cardiology, critical care, dentistry, emergency care, integrative medicine, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, physical rehabilitation, radioactive iodine therapy, surgery, and urgent care.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician to support our Neurology department.
No weekends required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Master the anatomy and functions related to neurology.
- Administer high-quality anesthetic induction, monitoring, and maintenance during surgeries and imaging.
- Accurately calculate medication and fluid dosages for hospitalized patients.
- Assist in surgical procedures and advanced imaging techniques.
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placements, urinary catheter placements, and more.
- Conduct and recognize normal physical examination parameters for canine and feline patients.
- Observe and document changes in patient behavior and condition.
- Gather patient histories and assist during neurologic consultations.
- Collaborate with the Neurologist to enhance patient care.
- Engage in client education and utilize practice management software for maintaining records.
- Contribute to the rehabilitation of paralyzed patients.
- Execute procedures that do not require veterinarian assistance.
$26 - $40 per hour, plus shift differentials and a $3,000 sign-on bonus for new full-time employees.
Compensation ranges are determined by role, level, and location, reflecting the minimum and maximum target for the position.
Work Schedule:
- Full-Time
- 3/12 Schedule
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8am-8pm, NO WEEKENDS
- Current and valid CA RVT license required.
- Minimum of 3 years in the veterinary field; specialty experience preferred.
- Proficient anesthesia skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with staff and clients, demonstrating professionalism and confidentiality.
- Reliable mathematical skills for drug dosages, CRIs, and client invoicing.
