We provide a comprehensive array of veterinary services, including but not limited to anesthesiology, cardiology, critical care, dentistry, emergency care, integrative medicine, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, physical rehabilitation, radioactive iodine therapy, surgery, and urgent care.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician to enhance our Neurology department. No weekend shifts required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Master the intricacies of neurological anatomy and functionality.
- Administer high-quality anesthetic induction, monitoring, and maintenance during surgical and imaging procedures.
- Accurately calculate medication and fluid dosages for hospitalized patients.
- Assist in advanced imaging and surgical procedures.
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placements, urinary catheter placements, and more.
- Conduct and recognize normal physical examination parameters for canine and feline patients.
- Observe and document changes in patient behavior and condition.
- Gather patient histories and assist during neurologic evaluations.
- Collaborate with the Neurologist to enhance patient care.
- Engage in client education and utilize practice management software for maintaining records.
- Contribute to the rehabilitation of paralyzed patients.
- Execute or set up procedures that do not necessitate veterinarian assistance.
$26 - $40 per hour, plus shift differentials and a $3,000 sign-on bonus for new full-time employees.
Compensation is primarily determined by role, level, and location, with the provided range reflecting the minimum and maximum target for the position.
Work Schedule:
- Full-Time
- 3/12 Schedule
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8am-8pm - NO WEEKENDS
- Current and valid CA RVT license is mandatory.
- Minimum of 3 years in the veterinary field, with specialty experience preferred.
- Proficient anesthesia skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff and clients, demonstrating tact, patience, and professionalism.
- Reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations related to drug dosages, CRIs, client invoices, and estimates.
